Installation and setup
- Open the official MarkText repository and its Releases page.
- Choose the current compatible Windows, macOS or Linux package and read that release’s installation notes.
- Create a disposable Markdown file and try a heading, list, code block and table.
- Save the .md file in a folder you control and reopen it before moving existing documents.
- Back up the file and any linked images together. Confirm the export and formatting you need with a small document first.
